Do you think buying a lot/land in a major city could be a good real estate investment?
I live in Chicago and already have bought a couple preconstruction condos as an investment. I have seen some land/lots for sale for what seems like reasonable prices in areas that have potential to be “up-and-coming” areas. What do you think, in general, about how how good of an investment land is? Would you recommend building on it, or waiting until the cost of the land appreciates a good amount and then flipping it? Do any of you own or have owned land as an investment in a city? What are some of the things I should consider, in this kind of investment?

Well i think everytime you buy land is good because in a couple or years you could get alot money out of it, and sometimes you have alot of things to pay and that will help alot.
Investment the same type you put it to you can build on but no more predictable and they are gonna hold it is for those type of plans for single family where can build on but no more than because they are purchasing it up for two units then have.
The land is its value will keep growing if you want to consider when buying land is its value will decrease because people get less choice of what to do with the land itself an important thing you want to do with the land no matter what.
