What is the best investment option for a secret nest egg?

investment

I would like to open an investment account to build a secret nest egg. I have $5000 to start and want to add up to $100,000. I don’t want my husband to know about it and prefer that it be non-taxable and as untraceable as possible. Any suggestions?

Why people knows the right way in investment & he willing to teach others while he can make a lot of money?

investment

Why some smart people knows the way about investment and he could make a lot of money, BUT still want to teach others how to invest?

For example, like some people play stock market. They willing to tell people what would be the trend of a stock or they would write a book to let other people know how to make money.

I don’t understand. If they kept the serect, they could make so much money to themselve. Why tell other how to do?

What is the best way to handle large investment losses on my taxes?

investment

I really screwed up and have over $50,000 in investment losses this year! Our gross income from salaries for this year will only be around $50,000.

In addition, I lost $5000 in my Roth IRA. I just read that I can only deduct $3,000 in investment losses. Does that include IRAs PLUS regular investment activities?

Also, will any interest I accrue via CDs or dividends from stocks or mutual funds essentially be tax-free now since I have such a large investment loss? Or is that a different category?

Please help, I really screwed up this year and am hoping somebody has some suggestions to make this better. Thanks in advance!

What is the difference between a trader and an investment banker?

investment

I am interested in majoring in Business Finance and I am trying to find out about some jobs I could get after college. The two jobs that I am interested in are investment banking or trading (possibly stock trader). So, what are the major differences between the two? Also, are these jobs ones that you could get an internship and do you really have to be in the top schools to get into a good job in these fields?

Can your investment representative be cheating you out of your profits?

investment

I invest in mutual funds with a group I will leave anonymous. I just started. I know that mutual funds are like stocks and any other investment there’s a chance you can lose money. However, is it possible the representatives can be storing away any profits that you did make into their account and making it look like you lost money from the investment? If so, I might just go to saving money from the bear market point of view. Savings bonds, Certificate of Deposits, savings account, and any other sure profit investments rather than these unpredictable and shady investments strategies. What do you think? Make money the old fashioned way and just save it?

What type of custodial investment account is the best for a dependent child?

investment

I am considering setting up a custodial stock account for my 2 year old. I’m seriously considering DRIP type investment.

What type of account is most beneficial in terms of tax benefits, for both parents and children?

Is it better to own a separate DRIP account until the child reaches the adult age and then gift them the account or use it to pay for the education?

Thanks

What are all the legal ramifications of foreclosing on investment properties?

investment

We own 2 investment properties that we are unable to sell and can no longer make the payments on. If we foreclose on them, what are the consequences? Can the bank come after us for the difference once it sells them? Can they come after our house? Will we need to hire an attorney for anything or simply walk away and let the foreclosure goes its course. We do realize this will remain on our credit for 7 years but do not wish to file for bankruptcy. Thank you for your informed answers!
